Modifications to CR 419 at Sanctuary Drive intersection

Parents a temporary installation of a directional median opening that the County is installing at the intersection of CR 419 and Sanctuary Drive as shown on the attached diagram. This temporary installation will be in place before school starts on August 11th. The installation is a result of a safety study that was performed at this intersection due to the high level of crashes. They will be testing this modification at the intersection for a 3-4 month period before they decide whether or not to make a permanent change to the intersection. Attached you can find the presentation that was presented to the adjacent HOA’s on June 10th regarding the safety study.

Drivers accessing Chiles will still be able to make eastbound left turns from CR 419 onto Sanctuary Dr. However, if a driver leaving Chiles Middle School (using the rear entrance off of Sanctuary Drive) wants to go south or east, they will have to make a right turn at the intersection and a U-turn at the next intersection to the west.
