Mission Statement

FSA Testing

Please see the attachments for additional information on computer-based Florida Based Assessments. Attachment 1, Attachment 2

To make the FSA Portal practice tests readily available for students to practice at school and at home,  a tile in ePassport has been added. The tile is located under class tools, and is named “FSA Portal”.  Students can use this tile to easily access the page where they can select an FSA practice test.

Parent Volunteers Needed

Lawton Chiles Middle School will be hosting an Environmental Day on Tuesday May 16, 2017. We are looking for outside community organizations to have a booth teaching our 7th grade students about the ecology of Florida, Florida's agriculture, flora/fauna of Florida, recycling, and various environmental concerns. Seventh grade students will also showcase booths about the environment. The festival runs from 9:15-3:45. Please contact  (407-871-7115) if you are interested in being a part of LCMS Environmental Day Festival. All participants interested in being part of Environmental Day are required to register as a DIVIDEND through the SCPS website. Please give your application approximately two weeks to be approved.

Calling All 8th Grade Parents for Field Day May 23, 2017!

The Physical Education Department is trying to make Field Day for the 8th graders a fun and memorable event.  This is a huge undertaking and many volunteers are needed to assist during the day. We need 24 Volunteers to help at the event stations, water station and ice pop station.  If you are only able to give a couple of hours, it would mean a lot to your student.  Please remember, you must be a dividend to be able to volunteer.

PTSA has created a volunteer online sign up for the 8th Grade Field Day. The link is below.  Please sign up to help our 8th graders celebrate the end of middle school.

8th Grade Dance

Don’t forget to be sure your student follows appropriate dance dress code policy. We will not permit strapless dresses, low slung dresses (in both the front and back), excessive cleavage, open midriff, too short/tight etc. We will accept spaghetti straps and will even accept one armed dresses.  There just needs to be something to hold up the dress. (a shrug does not hold up the dress and tends to be removed once they hit the dance floor)  Our gentlemen are asked to dress in their ‘Sunday best’. Collars on shirts are nice as well as slacks and dress shoes.  We cannot accept tank tops, ball caps, low slung pants etc.  If you have any questions about the dance dress code, feel free to shoot me an email.  You can even send a photo of what you’re asking about to help clarify it for me.  I want this to be a fun night and I want it to be appropriate. Your help is greatly appreciated.
