LCMS Cheerleading Tryouts for 2014-2015


           LCMS Cheer Tryouts will be held on:

                  Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014 (4:00 – 5:30pm)

                  Thursday, September 4th, 2014 (4:00 – 5:30pm)
                   Friday, September 5th, 2014 (4:00 – 5:30pm)

 

Please wear tennis shoes and comfortable athletic clothing, must attend all three days

 

The required Activity Fee for Cheer is $50 (for the school year)

 

*** To participate in any sport at LCMS, you must have a current Sports Physical Form on file, and Health Insurance is REQUIRED (available through the school, as low as $14 for the year). ***

 

Cheer practices will be held every Tuesday (4:00 – 5:30pm) in the Cafeteria

 

Cheerleaders participate at all HOME Volleyball (fall) and Basketball (spring) games, as well as various community events and parades throughout the school year!

Girls Open Gym: Friday, August 22nd                (4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.)

Boys Tryouts: Monday, August 25th                  (7:45 AM. - 9:00 A.M.)

Girls Tryouts: Tuesday, August 26th                  (4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.)

Boys Tryouts: Thursday, August 28th                (7:45 A.M. - 9:00 A.M.)

Girls Tryouts: Friday, August 29th                      (4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.)

2014 Summer Reading


LCMS would like to continue to promote the love of reading and continue to develop literary skills over the summer break. All students are required to read and participate in summer reading. The assignment has been distributed to rising 7th and 8th graders before the end of this school year and has been distributed to the elementary school for our incoming 6th grades. The accompanying link provides the specific assignment, rubric, and due date. Students may obtain a copy of the novel from local libraries, online, or for purchase in various book stores.
 
8th Grade Required Summer Reading

  • The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson

    These novels are of high interest, with captivating story plots, and noted on several best seller lists. * indicates that these novels are more mature in content with some scenes of violence.
