LCMS Happenings

Friday, May 15th is Environmental Day @ LCMS- Seventh grade students will showcase booths about the environment.  We are also looking for outside community organizations to have a booth teaching our 7th grade students (400) about the ecology of Florida, Florida's agriculture, flora/fauna of Florida, recycling, and various environmental concerns.
Please contact Joanne Babyak at joanne_babyak@scps.k12.fl.us or 407-871-7101 if you are interested in being a part of LCMS Environmental Day Festival. All participants interested in being part of Environmental Day are required to register as a DIVIDEND through the SCPS website. Please give your application approximately two weeks to be approved.

New Calculator Guidelines for FSA- With the new FSA testing taking place this year, 7th and 8th grade students will be allowed to use specific models of scientific calculators during the test. LCMS is recommending the TI-30XA calculator for the testing as this is one of the approved calculators for the test, and provides a good combination of functionality and ease of use. Students and parents may wish to purchase their own calculator in order to have time for additional practice using it prior to testing. Any 7th or 8th grade student who owns this specific calculator will be permitted to use their own, as opposed to the school provided one, when they take the FSA math test. The TI-30XA is available from many retailers for under $20.
