Dear Panther families,

Happy National Custodian Day to the BEST team around! Thank you for all you do to take care of our school, and us. Shout out to LCMS PTSA & Café Panuzzo's for helping us spoil them.

On Friday, Reese B. got to be "Principal for the Day!" She did the morning announcements, got a behind-the-scenes tour, and went on classroom walkthroughs. If you want to be AP or Principal for the Day, save up your Paws bucks and talk to Dr. Bridges in the Pawsitive Store about how to cash them in.

In Mrs. Bond's Design: Engineering classes, students spent last week learning about the seven different types of bridges. Students identified famous bridges and their type of bridge. This week students worked in groups and had the challenge to design and build the strongest popsicle stick bridge in their class period. She loved the competitive spirit!

Congratulations to our volleyball teams - all 4 teams had a clean sweep winning all 4 games 2 weeks in a row!

Congratulations to both boys teams, who are now 4-0 and have won all of their games in only two sets.

Shout out to the cheerleaders for keeping up the spirit on the home court.

Wednesday, the City of Oviedo Police Department honored K9 Xander with a Celebration of Life. ❤️🐾 Staff from the Oviedo Police Department, Lawton Chiles Middle School, and other local law enforcement agencies gathered to remember and celebrate Xander.

Officer Pierce was presented with a plaque, and Xander’s puppy raiser presented him with a special memory box filled with belongings from Xander’s puppy years.

We are grateful for Xander’s service, loyalty, and the joy he brought to so many. He will always be a part of the LCMS family.

Xander, we will miss you. 🐾💙

Have a great week!

Thank you so much to the families and volunteers who expressed interest in participating in our tutoring program. We truly appreciate your willingness to support our students.

Unfortunately, we need to postpone tutoring at this time due to current staffing limitations. We want to ensure that we can provide a consistent and successful experience for both students and volunteers. Once we are able to establish a reliable schedule, we will re-advertise the program and reach back to families and volunteer recruits.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and patience. Thank you again for your support of our students and school community. We look forward to launching the program as soon as possible.

It's time to start planning for Red Ribbon Week! This year, RRW is Monday, October 26-October 30.

October is a great time for spooky fun, but missing school is one thing that should never become a scary habit!

A few missed days can seem harmless, but when absences start adding up, they can lead to:

Sometimes, the hardest part becomes coming back after you've been gone.

As we approach the upcoming 3-day weekend with schools closed on Monday, October 12, we encourage families to make attendance a priority before and after the break. Every school day provides valuable opportunities for learning, growth, and connection.

The good news? You don't have to face attendance challenges alone.

If attendance is becoming a concern, reach out before it becomes a bigger issue. Your school's support team is here to help and problem-solve with you, not judge.

Contact your school's assigned School Social Worker or School Counselor for assistance and resources. Together, we can help identify barriers, create solutions, and ensure your student stays connected to learning.

Every Day Counts. Every Student Matters.

Beta Club is sponsoring a food drive for the LCMS Food Pantry next week. Items should be placed in the labeled boxes in the Growl Grill, the Lorenzo Library, or the Main Office. Thank you for your support!

Plan your fastest costume—or just your favorite past Rising running gear—and return for the 2026 5k/10k on Halloween morning.

Visit LCMS PTSA website to join today!
