Principal Update

Dear Panther families,

Last Thursday was the Beginning Band demonstration concert where parents got to experience a band concert from their child's point of view. Truly an eye-opening opportunity for parents to see their child's journey through Band under the leadership of Mrs. Kuperman. Go Panthers! (And Parents!)

Friday was Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness at LCMS!

Last week, students in Mrs. Martin's US History classes completed a Boston Massacre CSI - Was it self defense? Who was at fault? They investigated eye witness accounts and the crime scene to formulate their own opinion.

Last week, students in Mrs. Haddox's Civics classes enjoyed a Declaration of Independence Escape Room.

Congratulations to Mrs. Maiden who was recognized at Saturday's Annual Meeting of the Seminole County Farm Bureau as their Agricultural Educator of the Year!  Then, this week, she received 2 more grants: one from Florida Ag in the Classroom and another grant from the Oviedo Garden Club.

On Wednesday, This morning we invited students from Partin Elementary School-Seminole County Public Schools Walker Elementary and Young Innovators Oviedo as well as some of our Band parents to attend a Halloween Concert. Symphonic Band students demonstrated several different instruments in addition to playing some spooky tunes, led by Mrs. Kuperman. A great time was had by all. We can wait to see the 5th graders back for Band Night in December.

It's Red Ribbon Week! Included are pictures from: Dress like your hero (several picked their fav teacher!)
Twin Day
PJ Day
Yesterday was Grade Level Color Wars & today we say BOO to drugs!!

Giving back, one bag at a time!
Sunshine Club delivered art activity bags to Advent Health for Children for the siblings of pediatric oncology patients. We hope these activities bring creativity, comfort, and a little extra sunshine to their day.

Yesterday, we celebrated Student of the Month for October. Students were nominated by their Math and Science teachers.

Yesterday afternoon was the BEST DAY EVER!! Students who qualified through the PTSA MegaBlast fundraiser participated in the MegaBlast reward party in the field during 6th & 7th periods.

Pictures from this week are HERE.

Have a great week!

B Lunch Families

We are pleased to share that B Lunch students have done an outstanding job adjusting to our new procedures this week. As a result of their positive response, we have not needed to move forward with assigned seating by fourth-period class. Students are entering the cafeteria, finding a seat, and following directions with much greater consistency.

To help maintain a calm and orderly environment, students are seated first and then released to the lunch lines in staggered groups so that large numbers of students are not moving around at the same time. Students are also raising their hands to request restroom use, and our staff is bringing trash cans to the tables at the end of lunch rather than having students get up to dispose of their trash. These small adjustments have made a significant difference in reducing noise, congestion, and unnecessary movement throughout the cafeteria.

We are incredibly proud of how our students have responded this week and appreciate their efforts to demonstrate our PAWS expectations. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to create a safe, positive, and enjoyable lunch environment for all students.
