We made it - the first month chaos is over - Picture Day, assemblies, MegaBlast, FAST & makeups - we survived! Please see the directions below on how to view your child's FAST scores.
We heard from some of you that you would rather have an in-person Open House instead of the virtual platform. However, we also heard that several of you liked having Meet the Teacher in the evening. We can only do one of these 2 events in the evening. Which would you prefer? Share your preference here: https://forms.gle/ViUnZDBtZnzxaVF48
Additionally, we are starting to see cell phone usage emerge. Please remind your students that they cannot use their phone between 9:25 and the end of the school day. Teachers will be issuing consequences like any other behavior. Similarly, we are starting to see students carrying around stuffed animals. Please do not allow your child to bring these or other toys to school. And the latest trend is to fold up empty soda/energy drink cans and blow in them like a kazoo. Not only is the sound annoying but the bent metal is sharp and a safety hazard. Please discuss this with your child as these will be confiscated and disposed of.
This week starts Volleyball season. Game dates are above and on the website calendar. Come out and support your students. See below for ticket sales information. **Please note: Pay attention to the dates; not all games are on Wednesdays this year. Go Panthers!
We are currently in the process of selecting our Employee and Teacher of the Year. Our Top 4 are shown below. Please congratulate these staff members.
Have a great week!

WE DID IT, PANTHERS!!! a Thanks to YOU—our amazing students, families, friends, and community—we have officially blown past our $48,000 goal!
We couldn’t be more proud or more thankful. This fundraiser has shown us what Panther Pride really looks like—not just here in Oviedo, FL, but across the country (and beyond!). a From near and far, your love and support have lifted up LCMS in such a big way.
We’re not raising the goal again (don’t worry) — instead, we’re going to keep celebrating every single dollar raised, every email sent, and every bit of encouragement shared. Because YOU made this happen.
Together, we’ve proven that when Panthers come together, there’s no stopping us. Thank you for making MegaBlast the BEST DAY EVER! themegablast.com/join/LCMS

Science Leadership and Mentoring (SLAM) is an academic year-long (Fall & Spring semesters) mentoring program sponsored by the University of Central Florida Women’s and Gender Studies Program. We pair college leaders with 7th grade youth to empower them to be assertive, confident, independent, and proud leaders in STEM. We seek to promote youth inspiration and excitement into STEM fields and careers while also building leadership abilities such as problem-solving, teamwork and cooperation, and goals for the future. SLAM aims to create spaces where young people can share their real-life experiences, build themselves up and learn from one another.
For the 2025-2026 school year, all SLAM meetings will be conducted on UCF's main campus. Meetings will take place on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 PM. Mentees (Littles) will be paired with mentors (Bigs) based on interests and personalities. Meetings will include group activities, workshops, and industry speakers as well as moderated one-on-one time between Littles and Bigs. SLAM is completely free, and all rising 7th grade students are welcome to apply. Please visit our website: https://cah.ucf.edu/womengender/slam/apply/ to apply. Our application window has been extended to September 24th. You can email the SLAM Program Manager at slam@ucf.edu with any questions.

Students can submit ORIGINAL works in these categories:
- Dance Choreography
- Film Production
- Literature
- Music Composition
- Photography
- Visual Arts
Deadline: October 10, 2025
Questions? reflections@lcmptsa.com
Top 3 entries in each category move on to the Seminole County level!

Panther Families — We’re SO close to crushing our PTSA Membership Goals for 2025-2026! T
Goal 1: 519 Members — Parents, teachers, students, grandparents, & community members are ALL welcome!
Goal 2: 100% Faculty & Staff — Teachers, don’t forget: you must be a PTSA member to apply for Teacher Mini Grants.
Goal 3: Community Support — Businesses, you can help too with a community membership (or spirit nights or donations)!
Why it matters: If we reach these goals, LCMS could earn awards at the county and state level — giving us an even greater chance to secure school funding and resources.
Help us make LCMS even better with your contribution of just $12 for a PTSA Membership!
