Principal Update

You may have noticed our teachers and staff dressed unusually this week. It was an Underground Spirit Week - teachers and staff only! The students had fun guessing the theme each day.

Monday was Coaches' Day. We recognized our Instructional Coaches - Mrs. Brinker-Martin and Mrs. Edwards! We appreciate all they do (pictures below)!

Congratulations to our Golden Panthers for the month of October: Mrs. Edwards (Math Coach) and Ms. Nichols (ESE Paraprofessional). We appreciate how hard they work to support our teachers and students here at LCMS (pictures below)! Thank you to Cafe` Panuzzo's for sponsoring our Golden Panthers.

Congratulations to our Jazz, Symphonic and Advanced Band for an amazing Fall Concert on Tuesday night.

Congratulations to all 4 of our volleyball teams for winning their games against Milwee Wednesday! Our boys varsity team is still the ONLY undefeated team in Seminole County. We are proud of you, Panthers! Join us next week for our last game of the season when the girls play South Seminole at home and boys are away.

Good luck to the Band, Cheer & Pantherettes Dance Team students performing at Middle School Night tonight at the Oviedo HS football game.

Good luck also to the Chorus students participating in Round 2 of the All State Chorus auditions tomorrow.

Today, our Culture & Climate Committee will reward all of our students who made it through Quarter 1 without a referral. 1,211 out of 1,255 students will be rewarded. Way to go Panthers - keep up the great work!

Have a great week!

Action Items

  • Complete Clinic Consent if you have not already. Find the directions HERE PLEASE check the clinic consents - we cannot give a band aid or ice without it and LOTS of students do not have this completed. For the 2025-2026 school year, the consent forms can be found in the parent/guardian account of Skyward Family Access. Please click here to login.

  • Please talk to your kids & check their backpack for large amounts of post-it notes, paperclips & staples. They are making darts that they are sticking in the ceiling. These can become a safety issue. We are addressing it in classrooms and the halls as we see it but it is a significant enough issue that teachers asked me to bring it to your attention.

  • Parents of students in B lunch - particularly the 6th graders: Unfortunately, we have found that our 6th graders in B lunch cannot handle the freedoms that come with a regular middle school lunch. We have had to revert back to a more restrictive lunch with students only allowed 1 trip through the lunch line, and requiring raised hands before leaving their seats for the bathroom or to throw away trash. Please talk to your children about following the PAWS expectations, especially with regards to no running to and from lunch and keeping their hands and feet to themselves at all times. We hope that this improves over time and we are able to go back to our normal lunch procedures.

LCMS Teach-In Tuesday, November 18, 2025

Parents, community members, and friends of Seminole County Public Schools, make plans now to be a part of Teach-In 2025 on Tuesday, November 18th.

What does it mean to “Teach for a Day”?  LCMS invites you to share your time and talents with our students through career exploration and/or introducing them to new experiences! Plan to share a short lesson about your job, travel, hobby, sport, or life skill. Teach-In highlights the importance of bringing together teachers, school staff, parents, students and the community in a unified effort to support our students and schools. Volunteer for one class period or for the entire day!

Teach-In for the 2025-2026 school year will be held during American Education Week on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. If you are interested, please complete the form below. If you have specific questions, you can reach out to Dr. Taylor at taylorjd@myscps.us.

After School Tutorial

Tutoring starts October 7, 2025 and concludes on April 23, 2026 and will be held from 4:15-5:15 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students will receive homework help as well as tutoring in math and reading by teachers and high school students.

Transportation will only be available from LCMS to Geneva Elementary (for those who live in Geneva only. The bus will arrive @ Geneva at 5:40 pm). All others will need to secure a ride after school. Pick up will be promptly at 5:15 pm. If your child will be walking home from LCMS on these days, there will not be a crossing guard to assist.

As a reminder, students participating in the after school tutorial program are expected to follow school expectations and guidelines. These standards ensure a safe and positive environment for everyone. Students who do not uphold these expectations may be dismissed from the program.
