Last week, we had an exceptionally busy and rewarding week with our band students. On Thursday evening, our Jazz Band performed at their Music Performance Assessment and delivered an outstanding performance, earning straight Superior ratings from all three judges. The adjudication panel included the FSYO Jazz Band Director and renowned jazz educator Don Zentz, who served as last year’s All-State Jazz Band clinician. The judges were highly complimentary of our students’ musicianship and preparation. This video is the Jazz Band MPA Performance.
Solo and Ensemble followed on Friday evening (5:00–9:45 p.m.) and throughout the day on Saturday (9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.), with students performing for adjudicators in ten-minute intervals.
We are incredibly proud to share that 221 students participated, and 210 Superior medals will be awarded. Every LCMS student earned one of the two highest ratings—Superior or Excellent—a remarkable accomplishment.
These achievements are a testament to the students’ dedication and hard work, as many began preparing their music as early as October and November. Their commitment and discipline truly paid off.
Kudos also to our Band Directors Mrs. Kuperman and Mrs. Autrey for their dedication and amazing skill to train these talented musicians.
Congratulations to Chorus 3 student, Lainey Flora, performed sola A cappella Star Spangled Banner at the SCCPTA (Seminole County Council PTA) Mascot Games this past Saturday. Way to go Lainey!
Congratulations to these students who were recognized at tonight's History Fair Awards Ceremony!!

Lastly, we need your help with a few reminders for our students:
- Cell phones: Remember, students are NOT to be on their phones at all during the school day. This is a state law. Teachers have been reminded to follow our discipline ladder and issue consequences as necessary.
- Dress Code: We are seeing lots of low rise bottoms and crop tops, especially on the girls. We should never see a student's midriff. Please review the SCPS Dress Code policy below. Visit the SCPS website for more info: https://files.smartsites.parentsquare.com/6662/dresscode_1.pdf
- ID cards: ALL students MUST have their school ID card on them every day. Students without one will be issued a new one. The first replacement is free. Subsequent replacements will be $2 each.
Thank you for your help reminding your children of these expectations.
Have a great week!
