Congratulations to our Pantherettes Dance Team who competed in the MA State Competition on Saturday.
They received:

  • 1st place in Pom, Lyrical & Jazz
  • Kenzie & Stella placed 3rd for their duet
  • Camelia placed 4th for her solo
The team also received awards for Technique & for Choreography as well as the Super Sweepstakes Award.

Way to go Dancers and a special shout out to Mrs. Mikell for her coordination of the team all year long! Congratulations Pantherettes!!

Congratulations to all of our students who competed at the Math Festival on Saturday at Millennium Middle School. The Chiles team did an outstanding job, with students placing in the top 10 in seven of the eight individual competition categories.

A special congratulations to the following students for winning their individual categories:
  • Diya Vijakumar - 3rd Place in Ramp 6 Math
  • Marina West - 3rd Place in Grade 7 Math
  • Chad Rogers - 1st Place in 7th Grade Accelerated
  • Shiloh Tjong - 1st Place in Geometry

The Chiles team also proudly brought home the Team Spirit Award!

Thank you to our teacher sponsors, Mrs. Edwards and Ms. Pratt, for their hard work and dedication throughout the school year.
We are incredibly proud of all of you!

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to our 85 Chorus 3 students who participated in their state Music Performance Assessment yesterday! Our talented vocalists earned a SUPERIOR rating for their concert stage performance and a SUPERIOR rating for their Sight Reading assessment as well.

They performed "Jubilate, Alleluia!", a mixed meter piece based on original Latin text. Their second piece was "How Can I Keep from Singing" with words written in 1860 and arranged in a modern gospel jazz style. This was a previous All-State Choir concert selection with a challenging A cappella multi-mixed meter section and a divisi ending. The sightreading assessment consists of the full choir singing a never-seen-before 16-measure rhythm exercise after a 60 second review; and a 16-measure, 2-part melodic exercise in the Key of F after a 2-minute review. Students demonstrated AMAZING focus and confidence in their sight singing!!!

All scoring is based on a rubric of state middle school vocal music standards.

Thank you to our extraordinary Chorus 3 students for their hard work in preparing their music and for their dedication to musical excellence! We are ALL very PROUD of your accomplishment - BRAVO!!! If you know a Chorus 3 students, please offer them CONGRATULATIONS on their wonderful MPA performances!

Don't miss our final concert of the year on May 4th at Winter Springs HS! We have a lot of first-ever musical surprises in store for our Spring Sing Concert and 8th Grade Superlatives Recognition!

Pictures of all of these events are attached.

Have a great week!

Ag Day

National Agriculture Day Student Job Fair

The Agriculture Council of America announced that March 24, 2026, will be National Agriculture Day with the theme of “Together We Grow.” Ag Day 2026 also celebrates 250 years of progress in agriculture.

Cara Maiden, LCMS's Exploration of Agriscience Teacher,  will be hosting an event for her students to meet and interact with local professionals who work in or support agriculture-related fields. The goal is for students to learn about real-world agricultural careers, ask questions, and see how agriculture connects to their community and future opportunities.

Participation would involve setting up a small table or station and speaking with students during the event.
Where: LCMS
When: Tuesday - 3/24/26
Time: 10:00 am - 3:30 pm
More details to follow.
Thank you for your willingness to participate.

Spring Rising 5k

Help support the LCMS Sports and Wellness programs by participating in the Oviedo Run Club's Spring Rising 5K! Kids pay only their age up until March 16th, and adults are only $25. All participants get a great shirt and finisher award. The middle school with the most registrations will win $500!

Event information:
Join The Oviedo Run Club for our 4th Annual Spring Rising, benefiting underfunded educational gardens in our local schools. A portion of your registration will help provide the seeds, soil and supplies necessary to keep these learning grounds growing.

Garden and Plant Expo
Our post-race event will feature local gardening clubs, farms and nurseries to help guide and teach how to plan and care for the home garden. Walk through the vendor area for free gardening advice, cuttings and seeds.

Each finisher will receive an unforgettable and non-disposable finisher's award, sourced from local businesses.

The course is traditionally an out and back route that runs along the Cross Seminole Trail and past many important Oviedo landmarks. The trail was once the railroad that helped Oviedo become one of the country's largest supplier of watercress and celery.

Race packets will be full of practical items you'll be sure to use again, along with the best commemorative race shirt that ends up in everyone's regular running attire.

DON'T FORGET
PLEASE BRING A FOOD ITEM ON RACE DAY - food collected at the event will be donated to HOPE Helps, Inc. and local public school food pantries.

The Oviedo Run Club is committed to putting on a green event, which entails the use of compostable water cups, on site recycling and race packets that are full of useable items, not to be wasted.
