As we get closer to the end of the year, the weeks get busier and busier!
Earlier this month, Mrs. Nystrom's Science Fair class tested the catapults they constructed over 3 categories:
-Distance
-Accuracy
-Destruction
Students began with examples, common features, then prototype and tested. Their final portfolios will include schematics, measurement & reflections.
Last week, our teachers surprised the students by having an Underground Spirit Week last week.
Last Friday, our 6th grade Math teachers loved collaborating with our Oviedo cluster during our Professional Learning session focused on articulation from 5th to 6th grade! Teachers from across our feeder schools came together to observe classrooms, share strategies, and strengthen alignment to support a smooth transition for our students. From meaningful conversations to real-time classroom observations, it was all about ensuring our students are set up for success every step of the way.
Last Friday, at the GFWC Oviedo Woman's Club Philanthropic Awards Ceremony, several LCMS teachers were awarded grants for their classroom projects. Additionally, Gina Haddox was selected as one of the PEAK Award winners, given to teachers who are a Professional Educator, Accomplished and Kind. She was nominated by her Civics teammates. Special congratulations were also given to Zoey H. for her Science Fair project. Teachers who received grants are:

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Newsies for their amazing performances this weekend! Three sold out shows and over 750 audience members! Mrs. T and Mrs. Tuttle are incredibly proud of your talent and dedication over these past four months. A special shoutout to our amazing staff cameos from Dr. Vardas, Mrs. Haddox, Mrs. Capp, Mrs. Duprey, Dr. Taylor, and Ms. Heckle for her 3 show performances. Also, Mrs. Maiden and Mrs. Higley, thank you for helping with all three shows! Bravo!
Congratulations to all four basketball teams for their victories over South Seminole Academy last night. Both the girls' and boys' JV basketball teams have secured their place in the Finals with a 5-0 winning record. The girls and boys varsity basketball teams will compete this Saturday in a tournament. Come out and show your support.
